2008 PORTO - XVII Fair of Minerals, Precious Stones and Fossils

30, 31 MAY AND 1 JUNE ‘08 The Building of "Reitoria da Universidade do Porto", it will welcome in the 30, 31 May and 1 June, to XVIII Fair of Minerals, precious stones and Fossils, retaking a habit from it has been taking root a lot in the citizens of the North area.
This Fair, whose main objectives are in general the popularization of the Sciences of the Earth and of the Mineralogy and Paleontology in particular, won't stop being an excellent opportunity so that the collection of the Mineralogy Room of the Museum of Natural History can be enriched with new acquisitions.
Exhibitors will be represented / salespersons from Portugal, Spain, France, Germany and Brazil that, in its stands, for the visitors delight, they will expose pieces with origin in the four songs of the world.
Thus, of the world of minerals the tourmalines of Mozambique or Madagascar, the Crocoites of Tasmânia, the Roses of the Mexican desert, the Amethysts of Brazil or the Smoked Quartzs of United States, for the variety in its ways and of its colors, they won't stop amazing who observing. On the other hand, the lovers of the Paleontology will continue to be frightened with the Trilobites of Morocco, China or Portugal, with the dinosaur eggs of Mongolia, with the vegetables of the French carboniferous basins or with the insects trapped in the Baltic amber.
They are expected five thousand people that cannot, still, to take advantage of the opportunity to already visit the referred Mineralogy Room of the Museum of Natural History. Schedules: May 30: 15:00 at 20:00 May 31 and June 1: 10:00 at 20:00
